Lorraine Clarke-McGhie’s first memorable experience was singing as a soloist during Primary School assembly aged 7. Her musical adventure continued as she performed in schools around London being a member of a steel band orchestra. Her musical interest progressed as she learned how to play the piano, mastered music theory and developed her voice in the choir at the Centre for Young Musicians in Central London.
Her musical interest was further developed as she became a worship leader, Junior Choir Director, vocal trainer, keyboardist and choir member for two of London’s largest mega churches: Kingsway International Christian Centre and then later on New Wine Church as she continued to thrive as a prolific singer. Lorraine also became a member of the renowned London Community Gospel Choir.
She also been seen performing on various digital network channels, which has been broadcasted around the world and in 2008 was the winner of a televised gospel singing competition on Love World Music Festival aired on Love world digital TV channel.
Lorraine’s love for Gospel music doesn’t stop there. She is a music and French graduate teaching Secondary School music and has formed gospel choirs within secondary schools, taking choirs touring Germany and Italy. She has been one of the choir leaders of the Camden Schools Choir Music Festival consisting members of over 50 schools performing at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall. Lorraine is also a trained vocal coach and teaches piano and music theory grades in her spare time.
Lorraine most definitely has a voice with no limits and is a lyricist that will definitely inspire you.
In 2005 Lorraine Clarke – McGhie released her debut album titled I CAN GO ON an 11 song album of self-penned tracks.
In 2009 featured on the ONE VOICE – Somebody please help Haiti video taken from the ‘One Voice’ album featuring Nu Colors, Mary Mary, Israel Houghton, Bishop John Francis, Muyiwa, Tim Hughes, Kiera Sheard, Smokie Norful, Matt Redman, Martin Smith, and a collaboration of singers within the UK Gospel Industry.
In 2013 Lorraine released her second project a single called MORE THAN ABLE. Which is a slow ballad gospel song written and performed by Lorraine herself.
On 1st May 2015 her second single HIGHER was released: co-produced by Marcus Johnson. This is a dance track that will certainly get you off of your seats!
2015 Lorraine is presently in the studio recording her third project title to be revealed soon with a release date scheduled for June 2015 with Paul Watson – Producer and her husband producer Clive McGhie who has co-produced all the tracks and inspired the wide range of styles. Lorraine Clarke-McGhie’s new project promises to be Inspirational, Soulful and funky showing her diversity and personality.
